Delicate Pinot Noir Rosé bursting with redcurrant, cherry, raspberry, violet and gentle spice. The palate is dry, fresh and textural, driven by bright natural acidity and a lush mid-palate from partial old-oak fermentation. Elegant, persistent and unmistakably Gibbston.

Growing Season
The 2025 season in Gibbston was long, cool and ideal for Rosé. A settled spring supported even flowering, while mild summer days and cool nights preserved acidity. Autumn arrived dry and clean, producing beautifully balanced Pinot fruit with intense red-fruit aromatics and natural freshness.

The grapes were picked on 17 April 2025 at 23.1 Brix, the fruit showed purity, vibrancy and a finely textured Rosé expressing the altitude and schist soils of our single-vineyard site.

Winemaking
This 100% Gibbston Rosé was produced from multiple Pinot Noir clones. Fruit received a 48-hour cold soak, then fermented in stainless steel for freshness and 10% in old French oak for subtle spice and texture.

To Pair With
We love our bright rose at any time of the year, with sashimi, tuna poke, prawn dishes, roast chicken with herbs, soft cheeses and summer salads. 

At our Cellar Door, enjoy it with our pancetta, feta, honey & pear bruschetta or our Valley Platter.

Gibbston, Central Otago | Single Vineyard

Tasting Note
Appearance: Bright ruby.
Aroma: Redcurrant, blackberry and wild herb with subtle floral lift.
Palate: Medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins. Vibrant red fruit is layered with savoury spice and gentle warmth, showing freshness, balance and poise.
Finish: Long, refined and persistent.

Vintage
The 2021 Gibbston vintage delivered low yields and excellent concentration. A cool, settled summer and long ripening period allowed flavours to develop slowly, retaining natural acidity and finesse while building structure and depth.

Winemaking
Hand-picked fruit was fermented in stainless steel with 35% whole bunches and 65% destemmed berries. Following a four-day cold soak, fermentation ran for 19 days with gentle extraction. The wine matured for 10 months in French oak, 18% new, before bottling.

Food Pairing
Roast duck, lamb, mushroom dishes, chargrilled vegetables or aged cheeses.

This is the best deal you'll find anywhere!  We've dug deep into our Cellar and we've found a few cases of the 2017 Pinot Noir.  There's not many, but if we keep it, we'll drink it all!  A cooler season, this Pinot Noir has aged beautifully.  Slightly savoury, with silky tannins and those tertiary flavours truly coming through.  A great food pairing wine, or else, just on its own is perfect.  Enjoy it with friends and reminisce about the year 2017!
